This privacy policy applies to the Whip mobile app (“app”) and explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use the app.

By using the app, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this privacy policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download or use the app.

Information We Collect

We collect information about you in the following ways when you use the app:

  • Information you provide to us: We may collect information that you provide to us directly, such as when you create an account, send us an email, or communicate with us through the app. This information may include your name, email address, phone number, and other personal information.

  • Information we collect automatically: We may collect information about you automatically when you use the app, such as your IP address, device type, device identifier, and information about your use of the app.

  • Information from third parties: We may receive information about you from third parties, such as data providers, social media platforms, or partners.

Driver Information. If you apply to be a Driver, we will collect the information you provide in your application, including your name, email address, phone number, birth date, profile photo, physical address, government identification number (such as social security number), driver’s license information, vehicle information, FMCSA registration information, car insurance, and cargo insurance information. We collect the payment information you provide us, including your bank routing numbers, and tax information. Depending on where you want to drive, we may also ask for additional business license or permit information or other information to manage driving and programs relevant to that location. We may need additional information from you at some point after you become a Driver, including information to confirm your identity (like “selfie” imagery).

Location Information. The WHIP Platform collects location information (including GPS and WiFi data, IP address, and Bluetooth data) differently depending on your WHIP app settings and device permissions as well as whether you are using the platform as a Customer/Shipper or Driver:

  • Customers/Shippers: We do not collect location information from Shippers/ Customers. You are responsible for providing accurate pickup/ drop-off location information at the time of booking.

  • Drivers: We collect your device’s precise location when you open and use the app, including while the app is running in the background. We only collect location information from drivers during active delivery runs. We will not continue collecting location information from you after a drop-off has completed.

Usage Information. We collect information about your use of the WHIP Platform, including ride information like the date, time, destination, distance, route, payment, and whether you used a promotional or referral code. We also collect information about your interactions with the WHIP Platform like our apps and websites, including the pages and content you view and the dates and times of your use. We may also infer information from your use of or information you provide us in your interactions with the WHIP Platform.

Device Information. We reference at runtime, but do not store, information about the the operating system you use to access the WHIP Platform.  We also store push notification tokens. No other device information is collected or stored by the WHIP platform.

Use of Information

We use the information we collect about you for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the app: We may use your information to provide and improve the app, including to troubleshoot issues, analyze usage trends, and personalize your experience.

  • To communicate with you: We may use your information to communicate with you, such as to send you updates or newsletters, or to respond to your inquiries.

  • To protect the app and our users: We may use your information to protect the app and our users, such as to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

Sharing of Information

We may share your information in the following ways:

  • With third parties: We may share your information with third parties, such as data providers or partners, for purposes such as improving the app or for advertising and marketing.

  • As required by law: We may disclose your information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.

  • With your consent: We may share your information with your consent, such as when you choose to share your information with a third party.

Your Choices

You have the following choices with respect to your information:

  • Opt-out of marketing communications: You may opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the opt-out instructions in the communication or by contacting us at help@cargo-cam.com.

  • Access and update your information: You may access and update your information by contacting us at help@cargo-cam.com.

  • Delete your information: You may request that we delete your information by contacting us at help@cargo-cam.com. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review the privacy policy whenever you access the app to stay informed about our information practices and your choices.
